MSc Internet Engineering

OVERVIEW

Introduction

Master of Sciences (Internet Engineering) programme is specifically designed to address the market need for highly skilled professionals with solid foundation of the Internet. Students will be equipped with knowledge and skills that connect theory with hands-on Internet-based system building. We expect graduates of this programme to be at the forefront of the Internet evolution by mastering the existing underlying technology components and future Internet architecture.

Courses Structure

Coursework – 20 units &  Dissertation – 20 units

  • Network and Internet Engineering Principles
  • Internet Communication Protocols
  • Internet Security

Dissertation (20 units)

Elective Courses (8 units)

  • Special Topics in Next Generation Internet
  • Wireless and Mobile Communications
  • Advanced Web Technologies
  • Internet Governance
  • Advanced Network Programming

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree (hons.) in Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications), Computer Sciences or Information Technology with a minimum CGPA of 2.75, or equivalent, from a recognised university.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS


(Results MUST be attached with the application form)

Applicable for International Applicants Only

  • A minimum score of 550 in TOEFL (Test of English as a foreign language) (Paper-based); or
  • A minimum score of 213 on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) (computer-based); or
  • A minimum score of 80 on the TOEFL (Test of English as a foreign language) (Internet-based); or
  • A minimum score of 6.0 in IELTS (International English Language Testing System); or
  • English is the candidate’s mother tongue or National Language; or
  • The candidate graduated from an Institution of Higher Learning in which the medium of instruction at Bachelor and Master level is English; or
  • English courses offered by British Council. (The level of qualification and the relevant courses are to be identified by the University Postgraduate Studies Council); or
  • English courses offered by School of Languages, Literacies and Translation (The level of qualification and the relevant courses are to be identified by the University Postgraduate Studies Council); or
  • English courses from selected Malaysian public/private university or institution. (The level of qualification and the relevant courses should be previously identified and approved by the University Postgraduate Studies Council).

  • Tuition Fee : 268.00 X 40 Units = 10720.00
  • Convocation Fee : 120.00
  • Registration Fees : 227.50
  • Personal Bond : 475.00
  • Tuition Fees : 100.00 X 40 Units = 4000.00
